Senior Organizations

Sew & Sews

The Sew & Sews is a group of senior ladies who gather each Wednesday at the Parish Center. The ladies make “holiday” gifts for our homebound parishioners for St. Patrick/St. Joseph Day, Easter and Christmas. While the task of creating homemade gifts and goodies keeps them busy year round, it is the compassionate companionship the ladies extend to one another that keeps their members loyal attendees week in and out. They are truly an example of “… when two or more are gathered in my name.”

The Sew & Sews welcome new members year round - even if you cannot sew. Please contact the Parish Center at 773-238-4100 for additional information.

Sharpies

The Sharpies is a social organization designed for seniors. Members include St. Cajetan parishioners and residents of neighboring parishes. The Sharpies group was founded over 35 years ago by parishioner Jerry McLaughlin when few such outlets for seniors were available.

The Sharpies meet at 10:30 a.m. on the first and third Thursday of each month at the Parish Center. In addition to the bimonthly meetings, various trips, activities and social events fill the Sharpies calendar.

Membership is open to all seniors and the group collects no dues. For more information or to confirm the next meeting date, call the Parish Center at 773-238-4100.
